1. Agreement to terms

By creating an account or using Ghoster (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid subscribers.

  • Detect employer ghosting based on elapsed time
  • Monitor email replies from employers via Gmail integration
  • Tailor resumes and generate cover letters using AI (Pro feature)
  • See community ghosting reputation scores for companies

We do not guarantee job offers, interviews, or responses from any employer.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date
  • One account per person. You may not share your account

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Submit false, misleading, or fabricated job application data
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse engineer, or extract data from the platform in bulk
  • Abuse the Gmail integration to access inboxes you do not own
  • Attempt to manipulate community ghosting scores by submitting false data
  • Use the AI features to generate fraudulent resumes or misrepresent your qualifications to employers
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits
  • Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service

6. Gmail integration

Connecting your Gmail account is entirely optional. By connecting Gmail, you grant Ghoster permission to read emails in your inbox to detect replies from employers and update your application statuses. We do not read, store, or share email content beyond what is required to classify the email (replied, rejected, offer, etc.). You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings or directly in your Google Account settings.

7. Community data and ghosting scores

By using Ghoster, your application outcomes (by company domain) may contribute to our community ghosting score database. This is anonymised — only the domain and outcome are stored, never your name, email, or any personally identifiable information. Community scores help all users make more informed decisions about where to apply. You may opt out by contacting support@ghoster.app.

8. AI-generated content

The Resume Tool uses AI to generate tailored resumes and cover letters. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before submitting it to employers. Ghoster does not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or suitability of AI-generated content. Do not submit content that includes fabricated qualifications, experiences, or credentials.

9. Intellectual property

Ghoster and its logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all data you enter into the platform (your application data, resume content, and notes). You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the Service.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result (job interviews, offers, or replies from employers) will be achieved. Community ghosting scores are based on user-reported data and are informational only — they do not constitute a recommendation to apply to or avoid any employer.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ghoster shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction in the territory where Ghoster operates.
